This map is based on the vessels Automatic Identification System (AIS) and is an automatic tracking system used on ships. AIS transceivers automatically broadcast information, such as their position, speed, and navigational status, at regular intervals via a VHF transmitter built into the transceiver. The signals are received by AIS transceivers fitted on other ships or on land based systems, such as VTS systems.

The Floating Bridge will be out of service on Tuesday 9th July 2024 between the hours of 18:00 to 23:00 hours. A launch service will be in place for pedestrians and cyclists during this time. We apologise for any disruption caused this is to enable the replacement of three chain guide wheels.
